Through walking, cycling and staying in one place, I explore ecological connections across time and place; using journaling and photography to record the process. Generational amnesia and shifting baselines mean we lose sight of what was once here. Having worked as a GP for many years, I am interested in the relationship between connection and care. I use making with naturally-found materials, weaving and basketry as a way of bonding with the land; learning prehistoric textile skills to share with others, to keep alive these traditions which are part of our human heritage.

For my last installation I followed the cycle journey of the poet Edward Thomas from London to the Quantock hills, investigating and responding to how the landscape and more-than-human inhabitants have changed over the last hundred years.

In the current exhibition I explore my own surroundings, camping in the place I have lived for the past thirty-two years - yet still do not know all the species I have shared this space with. Identifying and naming all the plants, insects, birds and mammals - to be listed in a time capsule as a memorial to the biodiversity here in July 2026.
