Artist Statement
My practice is material-led, using clay, metal wire and aggregates sourced from my family’s farm. This agricultural heritage drives my work – despite living in a throwaway society, I instinctively need to extend the life of materials by constructing them into new objects.
By finding value in these collections of discarded debris, they are transformed into precious commodities, not to be wasted. Metamorphosis carries on the legacy of that which has been discarded.
Working in an environmentally sustainable, conscious, and cyclical way, I can continuously find the potential for more exciting explorations.
