Kristen is a multimedia visual artist based in Southwest England. Her practice investigates diversity, ecology and our relationships to ourselves and other through lenses of neuro-nonconformity, activism and somatic responses to birdlife.

Engaging in site-specific collaborations with human and nonhuman beings, Kristen layers ink painting, film, performance, alternative photography, animation, poetry and found sound. These mediums interacting to create uncanny audiovisual experiences that navigate tensions between communication and ambiguity, entanglement and withdrawal.

Recent exhibitions have included emotionally expressive ink drawn gulls appearing alongside film of Kristen’s somatically responsive live performance. In another, audio from contact mics was amplified through speakers into the building space, while layered hand-drawn animation played out on translucent tulle.

Through this interdisciplinary work and collaborations Kristen seeks to challenge neoliberal systems that suppress diversity and complexity, by offering audiences a multiplicity of encounters. Her installations gesture toward hidden realities—evoking elusive, unknowable dimensions of existence and inviting viewers to reconsider their ecological position.
