Artist Statement
Klara Ferm is an emerging, young curator investigating the role of care in the contemporary art world, focusing on the complex relationships between artist, curator, audience, and art institution. Klara wonders what she can contribute and, alternate in the existing structures without rejecting what has been, and instead learn from history.
‘Curator as Gaia (Born from Chaos)’ is a publication exploring the vital role of different definitions of caretaking within a curatorial practice, where care is the centre in a holistic view of art experiences. The texts in the publication touch on the good, the bad and the ugly, where all emotions are allowed to be expressed and cared for.
Curated and written by Klara Ferm with artworks by national and international artists.
