My multidisciplinary practice follows a tactile led exploration of the physical world. The work explores self identity and the fluid ways that our inner selves can exist. I collect found objects or otherwise discarded waste and transform them into new modes of being. Each form is scrutinised, explored, and deconstructed to learn more about the stories that might be embedded within them. There is a sense of potential and challenge in thinking what other ways the found materials in my work can be represented. The process of deconstruction unpicks our realities of what we know the objects and materials to be. Allowing a sense of freedom to explore the work anew. The process of collage allows for the components in my work to experience multiple lives through differing compositions. The sculptural nature of the work invites the audience to play with the space as a way of connecting to the objects that exist within the scenes I curate. I have connected to my experience of grief through the reconfiguration of such objects to get closer at understanding new realities of life and our sense of being as they appear. Every interaction with the source material opens a dialogue where the objects emit emotions by proxy. In this way the work can relate to universal human experience and our precariously buoyant existence.
