Jake Cooper is a multimedia artist who creates installation art that uses sound, light and interaction to create immersive spaces.

Light is used as a tool to extend the material objects placed within the installation, the shadows produced from the light installed spread the objects presence throughout the space. These shadows become just as real as the object that produces them. This allows for viewers to understand how that material is affecting light and the space they exist within. The viewers own shadows connect them to the change that is happening, there's and the materials shadow are in constant play, bringing together all the elements of the installations in a way that feels harmonious and not forced.

Sound acts as a tool of communication and performance designed to beckon you in. Inspired by research into campanology he aims to show the performative side of bell ringing within his installations. Something that is often hidden becomes visible during the performance, the sounds are paired with action, it becomes a dance with the bells.

All these elements are not possible without the interaction of the viewer, there movement, hearing and activating of the work allows everything to become streamlined.
