Alisha's curatorial enquiries are grounded in curation as an act of care; investigating how we care for objects, artists, and stories, and how that might teach us to care for ourselves. This work involves collaboration with local art groups, conversation with artists about support needed in their early careers, and creating opportunities for group shows for students and recent graduates.

This research bleeds into her studio practice as her interactive textile objects boldly demand the viewer treat them with respect. They spark conversation around symbols of care and the ways we connect to objects. There is a domestic/service/labour element to the works as a reappropriation of workplace signage and symbolism creeps into each piece.

Her current body of work shows a personal and material investigation into the precarious balance between the professional development of an early-career independent curator, and holding a studio practice that satisfies her research while satiating the need for making. The installation on show is a monograph to holding space for both.

Before her MA, Alisha was in residence at EMERGE Graduate Studios and curated EMERGE's Holburne UpLate ‘Grassroots Bath’ and two successive Residency Showcases. She has worked emerging artists for ‘Bridge’ and ‘re:generation’ at 44AD Artspace, and assisted BSU with in-house exhibitions at Locksbrook Campus. In 2026, she collaborated with Bath Art Circle to curate ‘Vibrant Pockets’.

In late 2026, Alisha will be opening affordable artist studios and community artspace in Trowbridge alongside long-time collaborator, Sapphire Henriksen. Together, they are the co-directors of Celestial Studios.
